Reasoning and Details for Dance Items

Dance bag: carry everything in one trip. If you have a smaller dancer, a dancer who only wants to be in a couple dances, or a dancer who is just trying it out to see if it is their passion, you can get cheap dance bags online at Walmart or amazon. If your dancer is going all out, it is worth it to spend the money on a large rack and roll dance bag. If you have to carry a heavy bag or multiple dance items all over the place during competitions, it gets very tiring!

Costume/garment bags: decreases wrinkles, and chances of costume getting dirty, ripped, etc. Can also keep all costume pieces together in one bag

Makeup bag: separate makeup and hair products from the rest of your dance items and things can often spill or eyeshadow breaks and gets all over the place

Hair accessories organizer: a container with separate compartments to divide elastics, bobby pins, hair donuts, hair nets, etc. to make hair changes more accessible and quick

Steamer: The big fancy steamers work faster, but a cute little travel streamer works just as good. You can find these for cheap at Amazon and Walmart

Mini Sewing Kit: for any emergent rips, snags, costume adjustments

Hot glue/instant glue: Sometimes our costume accessories malfunction and this is a quick fix!

Housecoat/slippers/blanket: Dancers can get cold in between dances, and we don't want food or makeup to get onto the costumes so a housecoat is easy to slip on and off; slippers so our dancers tights don't get dirty; a blanket to fit or lay on while getting ready and waiting in between dances as the floors are cold and can be dirty

Collapsible Stool: Fits easily in dance bag, and set up quickly for our dancers to sit on while getting hair and makeup done. Better yet, its good for parents to sit on while the dancer sits on the ground! Chairs can be limited or not available at competitions.

A pen/pencil/highlighter: If you like to mark scores and follow along with the dance program at each competition

Makeup and wipes: a full face of makeup looks more put together on stage with the bright lights and photography. Lets keep those little faces clean and healthy by wiping the makeup off after with some gentle wipes

Nail polish remover and cotton pads: there is no nail or toe polish allowed during competitions

Water Bottle and Healthy Snacks: Our dancers need to stay hydrated as they are working hard; healthy snacks to replace that burned off energy is important. Please try to avoid unhealthy snacks and beverages as this will cause our dancers to crash.
