Studio Rules
● No food or drinks (other than water) allowed in the dance area
● Anyone waiting for a dance class will stay QUIETLY in the back
● Dancers and parents are responsible for their belongings - please do not
bring any valuables to the studio and ensure your dancer’s belongings are
labelled
● Please clean up after yourselves
● Placement into classes is based on age, experience, ability and other
factors and is at the sole discretion of the instructors
● Choreography and costumes are also at the sole discretion of the
instructors. We have every confidence that our instructors will choose age
appropriate choreography and costumes for our dancers
● Dancers are to enter the studio through the back door so they are not
interrupting classes
Rules for Dancers
Show up on time and ready to dance
● Go to the bathroom
● Be in appropriate dance attire
● Have hair tied back
● Be respectful to dance teachers and assistants
● When a teacher is talking dancers are listening and their eyes are on
the teacher
● Take corrections and apply them
● Wait to ask questions until teachers are done explaining or
demonstrating
● When we are at dance we are a team. Any outside issues are to be
left outside of the studio
● Treat fellow dancers with respect and kindness
● This includes any time at the studio, recital or competitions
● Cell phones are not permitted in the dance area. They are to be turned off
or silenced and left in the waiting area
Rules for Parents/Guardians
● Any issues or concerns are to be emailed to prairiesolesih@outlook.com -
instructors and board members will not respond to texts or emails sent to
their private phones or emails
● Questions can be posted on Teamlinkt e.g. “Are there still classes
tonight?”, “Does anyone have any…?”
● Please indicate if your dancer is going to class or not on Teamlinkt
● We will have designated Parent Watch Nights. Other than those times,
parents are not to enter the dance area unless asked by the instructor
● Everyone is expected to help fundraise
Rules for Solos, Duos, Trios
Dancers must have good attendance
● Groups dances are the priority, dancers must be competent in knowing the
choreography
● Instructors have the final say in genre of solo, duo and trio
● Instructors have final say in which dancers will be partnered together
● Dancers must be willing to practice on their own time, the studio is
available for practicing upon request
● Costumes are the responsibility of the dancer and their family
● If the instructors do not feel that the dancer is ready for competition and/or
recital they can choose to pull the dance
● Dance fees for solos, duos and trios are to be paid directly to the instructor,
prices are determined by them
● Competition fees, photos and any other unforeseen fees/costs are not
covered by regular class fees and will be invoiced to the parents by Prairie
Soles
